Animal Control

Pasadena Animal Control, 713-477-8041

Animal Control and Adoption is a City department tasked with helping people and pets by working to eliminate the problems created by free roaming animals. Good neighbors and responsible pet owners properly confine their pets. Free roaming pets will eventually:

  • be killed or injured by a car
  • be attacked by other free roaming animals contract and/or spread diseases
  • be abused become a traffic hazard contribute to the pet overpopulation problem
  • bite someone
  • be a nuisance to your neighborsif lucky, be taken to the animal shelter
Keep your pets at home...they will LIVE to love you for it!

City ordinance requires all dog owners to register their pets with the Animal Rescue and Assistance division. Upon proof of your dog’s current rabies vaccination, a city license tag will be issued. Dogs must wear their city license tag at all times. License tags are also available for cats, but are not required by law. Yearly tags cost $10.00. Remember:

A city license tag is a phone call home for a pet away from home!
Pets picked up wearing a city license tag are held longer at the shelter, and the owner is alerted through the most recent address and telephone number available.

Texas State law and Pasadena City codes mandate that all dogs and cats receive annual rabies vaccinations. Pet ownership is limited to two dogs and two cats per household.
