Debbie Hymer of Ridgepoint Community Association
by Brenda Ellington

Debbie Hymer has been a member of Ridgepoint Community Association since 1982. Debbie was elected to the Board of Directors in 1989 and has held the position of president since 1999. Debbie is a hardworking person that has volunteered countless hours over the years in many different capacities. Her dedication and knowledge of the community since the beginning are true assets.

Debbie has been married to her husband Keith since 1989 who also served on the board for many years before having to set down in 2021 due to the change in legislation. Debbie worked for Harris County Engineering Department Permits/Watershed protection Group for 37 years where she recently retired in September 2021.

Since her retirement, she keeps herself busy with different organizations and family. Debbie volunteers with several different organizations such as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and Houston Diamond and Dollars. Debbie works as an elections judge or alternate judge and precinct chairman since 1983. Debbie loves to spend time with her nieces, nephews, and family. She enjoys attending FFA auctions, baking and decorating cakes, crafting, traveling, and reading.

C.I.A. Services, Inc. would like to thank Debbie Hymer for her time and dedication to the community through the years. We are truly honored to work with volunteers such as her.

Employee Anniversaries

Congratulations to Jennifer Northington, from our North Houston office, on her 10-year anniversary!  Jennifer began with the company as an Administrative Assistant and was quickly promoted to Community Manager.  She has specialized in large master-planned communities for much of her tenure as a manager with the company.  Jennifer is also a mentor to new managers and a member of several of our Executive Committees.  Jennifer is known to be a fan of traveling, especially to destinations with beautiful beaches and lots of diving.  She has been excited this year to go on several cruises, some with her family and others with friends.

Jo Ann Peterson is celebrating her 7-year anniversary!  Jo Ann works in our Accounting office, processing checks for our communities.  Having been a teacher for many years, this is the perfect position for Jo Ann as her proofreading skills are first-rate!  She also holds the title of "Wildlife Manager" for our office here in the Hill Country - feeding deer, birds, squirrels, etc., and taking photos of the wildlife and flowers.  In addition, Jo Ann enjoys her church and finds great pleasure working with elderly folks who may need help downsizing for various reasons.

Tiffany Sales, one of our A/P - A/R clerks in our Accounting Office, is celebrating her 6-year anniversary this month.  Tiffany is very dedicated and detailed in everything she does. She is always willing to help anyone in the office who needs assistance. Previously having worked as an Administrative Assistant in the San Antonio office, she is always able to help when a homeowner comes through the door.  Tiffany also enjoys spending time with her husband, Clifton, and 4-year-old son, Charley, as they both keep her busy when she’s not at work. She is very much looking forward to her mother moving to the area in July.

More Employee Anniversaries

Congratulations to Kaitlin Sowemimo on her 6-year company anniversary!  Kaitlin is an Assistant Manager working onsite in a Houston-area master-planned community. She is phenomenal at balancing her daily administrative tasks with onsite obligations and visitors.  When not being the best Assistant Manager she can be, Kaitlin enjoys spending quiet time at home reading.  She also loves spending time with her two nephews and can frequently be seen at the makeup counter checking out the latest trends.

Brandon Tate, an HIR Coordinator out of our North Houston office, will also be celebrating a 6-year anniversary this month!  As an HIR Coordinator, Brandon processes home improvement requests from multiple communities and stays very busy as the department processes almost 50 requests each day.  Brandon enjoys all things entertainment, including the latest movies, books, and shows.  He has 2 pets, Sampson and Molly, both rescue dogs.

Robbye Campbell’s Meeting Celebration

The Aliana Community Council is one of our unique associations that we are fortunate to manage. Their primary focus is to generate, preserve and enhance a true sense of "community" through the creation and sponsorship of programs, activities, and services to facilitate interaction, inclusiveness, involvement, community pride, and responsibility, as well as the sharing of ideas, common interests, and resources to enhance the lifestyle within and contribute to the betterment of the Aliana Community and the surrounding area.

This year is the first year of the full homeowner-appointed Board of Directors and they truly believe in the Community Council’s mission! The Community Council meets every month, however, the June 14th meeting was not just an ordinary meeting, it was also Community Coordinator Robbye Campbell’s birthday!  Because Robbye would be celebrating her birthday evening with the Council, the Board organized a surprise birthday celebration with lots of goodies and décor during the meeting.

The Community Coordinator position is a unique position that Robbye handles with grace while planning events for a large master-planned community like Aliana. The kind gesture shown by the Council Board members was greatly appreciated by the team and lets us know our efforts are truly appreciated! We too appreciate working with a great group of motivated individuals!

Happy Birthday Robbye!

Blood Drive

On June 17th, members of our staff at the North Houston office conducted a blood drive through the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center!

Thirteen employees were ultimately able to donate, with two being first-time donors!  Those donations saved a whopping total of 48 lives!

This is a great example of how our employees live our core values every day!  What a great way to help the greater community!

Associations in Practice

Our Associations in Practice Series is an offering of short videos with very specific topics.  Our newest video is Texas 87th Legislative Session.  The 2021 session of the Texas legislature produced significant changes to the Texas Property Code affecting property owners’ associations. This video explores those changes and provides specific follow-up recommendations.

Super-Budget Concepts is a great introduction (or refresher) to our Super-budget and a nice refresher or opening to the full webinar offered in our Seminar Series.

In our video, Short Term Rentals, we offer insight into short-term rental properties. We have an expert panel on board discussing everything from what a short-term rental is, to potential problems and possible solutions.

All of our Associations in Practice Series videos will be available on our YouTube channel. We will send updates when new material is added. You can also subscribe to our channel for news on the latest additions.
