Become a Volunteer
Homeowners Associations thrive because of volunteers like you. Whether you’re passionate about protecting property values, preserving nature, or improving neighborhood spaces, there’s a committee that can benefit from your time, skills, and voice.
Not sure where to begin? Consider where your strengths and interests align:
-
A born leader? Step up to the Board of Directors. This is a great fit for individuals who are confident in decision-making, understand community dynamics, and are ready to guide the future of the Association. Board Members help shape policies, manage priorities, and ensure the long-term success of the community.
-
Detail-oriented and fair-minded? The Architectural Review Committee needs volunteers who can evaluate homeowner requests for improvements such as roofing, fencing, and exterior changes. If you’re familiar with governing documents and can make timely, objective decisions, this is your place to contribute.
-
Passionate about nature? The Wildlife Management Committee assists the Board in addressing wildlife concerns within the community. This group identifies practical solutions, recommends qualified professionals, and works to maintain a safe balance between residents and the environment. No experience required—just a willingness to help.
-
Have a knack for outdoor upkeep or design? The Parks and Grounds Committee helps ensure our common areas are maintained to high standards. Volunteers may review landscaping contracts, suggest upgrades, and provide feedback on vendor performance. Ideal for those who enjoy outdoor spaces and working with service providers.
Job Descriptions
Following is a summary of the role each officer may play on the Board of Directors; however, the board may elect to transfer some roles to the manager. For example, the manager may lead the meeting or take the minutes; however, the decision makers are the elected directors, not the manager.
President
The role of the President is that of a leader. The President typically presides over the meetings, keeps the agenda going and ensures sound decisions are made. The President leads discussions and ensures productivity. The President often signs legal documents such as loans and contracts and serves as a signatory for checks (payments).
Vice President
The Vice-President shall act in place of the President in the event of his/her absence, inability or refusal to act, and shall exercise and discharge such other duties as may be required of this position by the Board.

Committee Volunteers
Architectural Review
This committee reviews all home improvement applications submitted by homeowners requesting improvement to their home such as a new roof, paint or a pool. The Members must have an understanding of the governing documents as well as strong decision making ability. This committee is responsible to ensure submissions are in compliance with the general design aesthetic of the community and be able to work within time constraints.
Wildlife Management Committee
The Wildlife Management Committee will help assist the Board with wildlife management needs at LVRPOA, make recommendations for solutions, including identification of qualified persons to perform necessary tasks, and otherwise assist with wildlife management. Do you have an eye for details, experience with wildlife, or want to volunteer? Then we want you!
Parks and Grounds Committee
This committee works with the contractors and Board to ensure the common areas are well maintained. The committee will communicate to the board should a need for improvement be necessary and work on design specs for new proposals. The committee may also assist with the spec preparation and interviews of contractors if necessary. An ability to read and understand service contracts is necessary.
