Sidewalk & Driveway repair
BigBoy Concrete (contact: Robert at 713.927.8261) has agreed to extend special pricing to Marina Bay Park residents for concrete work on damaged sidewalks and driveways. BigBoy is the vendor utilized by the CLC Water Authority to perform the sidewalk replacement around manhole covers work over the past year.
This is just one of many concrete vendors in the Houston area. So, don’t take our word for it. Do your own research, get multiple bids and decide on the best contractor for your situation. The Marina Bay Park CA does not endorse any specific vendor and is not responsible for concrete work performed on behalf of the homeowner.
Broken and shifting sidewalks and driveways are a common problem experienced throughout Marina Bay Park. Get out and talk with your neighbors and work together to get the best cost on repairing your concrete walkways. Let’s keep our community safe and beautiful!

CRIME IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Over the past few years we have seen little crime in our community … mostly reported identity theft. However, recently there have been a number of robberies in our neighborhood and those near us. For example, thieves entered an unlocked car and subsequently an unlocked residence after realizing no one was home. Things were stolen from a garage. We need to be alert to what is happening around us and our neighbors … set patterns like going to pick up children at certain times daily can leave the homeowner vulnerable to the watchful thief. Keep an eye out for your neighbor and strangers in the area. You can go to http://www.crimereports.com and set up alerts to see what is happening in our locale.
TROUBLE IN THE GREENSPACE
We have noted that folks are dropping their yard debris into the greenspace. The proper place for this is obviously the curb so the trash people can pick it up. If it remains in the greenspace, our landscape folks must pick it up so they can mow and that will cost us over and above our contract. That’s NOT their job! Please get it to the curb and save yourself the inevitable letter and keep our greenspace clean.
Likewise, some folks are driving golf carts and other motorized vehicles off the sidewalks in the greenspace. It is playing havoc with our sprinkling system in that sprinkler heads are being damaged and necessitating costly replacement. In addition it creates ruts in the turf. If you see people doing that, please remind them of the problems we face.
Golf Carts
Owners/operators of golf carts need to be aware of new requirements for the operation of golf carts in League City. See the new city ordnance at: www.leaguecity.com/golfcarts
Gate Issues
For those of you who live behind the gates, we need your help! We are experiencing too many broken gate arms. There are a number of things that you can do:
- If you see an arm down or off or any other problems, call C.I.A. Services at 713-981-9000.
- If you forget your card and no one is at home, call a neighbor to let you in; don’t just break off the gate arm and enter.
- Don’t encourage anyone to enter by tailgating you … it just doesn’t work!
- Remember that our gates are monitored by cameras … if you remove or damage a gate, you WILL be billed for the $75 service fee and additional cost will be incurred if damage is involved.
- If you note violations, call C.I.A. Services … your information will be treated as confidential.
- If you call in to report a problem with the gates please be able to provide our staff with details. We need to know which gate experienced a problem, the time of the problem and a detailed description of the problem.
In summary, this is your community and it will remain secure only with your support.
Tree Trimming Policy
The board has reaffirmed and updated a policy that has been in place for some time concerning tree trimming. League City ordnances require trees trimmed to 15 feet over the street to allow emergency vehicles access to neighborhoods. Our policy requires a clearance of 9 feet over sidewalks and driveways extending to the curb. Trimming should go from 9 feet at the curb to 15 feet at the crown of the road.
DEED RESTRICTIONS AND ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL GUIDELINES
Our homeowners continue to get letters from CIA Services concerning violations of our Deed Restrictions and Architectural Control Guidelines. The community is audited every two weeks to ascertain compliance. The direction in Article 5.1 of our DR’s is very clear, i.e., “No building, fence, patio, pool, garage, paving, fencing, or any other structure or improvement shall be erected, placed or altered on any lot until the building plans and specifications and a plot plan showing the design, materials and locations of such improvements has been approved in writing….”
A copy of the DR’s and ACG’s should have been provided to you at settlement and are available here on our web site --- click Community Documents. Likewise, Home Improvement Request forms are also available in the Community Documents section of the web site.
These rules are intended to insure our neighborhood is maintained in such a manner as to enhance property values. Help us keep our neighborhood looking its best by submitting Home Improvement Requests BEFORE the work is done. It will save you a lot of aggravation and expense!
