Why are we conducting this survey?

The Board of Directors is looking for your opinion on levying a special assessment. This special assessment would cover improvements proposed by the Beautification Committee. Below is a message from the Board.

A proposal has been made that we allocate funds for enhancing and beautifying the entrance to the subdivision. The plan would be to add drought-resistant plants and color to the islands and seasonal color at the point of the center island near Wilderness Oak.

 To do this, we would need to spend $12,000 to revive the sprinkler system.  Additionally, we would need to initially spend $2,000 to $4,000 for new plants and $1,000 to $2,000 on soil and mulch around the new plants. We would seek volunteers to plant the plants initially, and the contractor would do the seasonal color.  

Based on our budget, this would require a special assessment of $18,000, or $305 per household. This would also increase our budget for water and landscape maintenance by up to $4,500 annually, but we would not change the planned annual assessment for this expense.
